A power flush is simply a procedure that gives your central heating system a thorough internal clean and usually raises the central heating system’s operation; which can lead to lower gas bills. Over time some heating systems may experience poor circulation which results in tepid radiators, poor hot water, amplified noise and sludge build up. By ‘power flushing’ your heating system, the sludge and built up deposit will be removed via inline magnetic filtration, it will make your system work more efficiently.
We are one of few gas engineers that specialise in power flushing in Newcastle and have brought back to life many old heating systems and saved clients £100’s of £££ specially on oil & LPG boiler central heating systems.
How does Power Flushing Work?
Because the water in a central heating system is constantly pumped in the same direction, iron filings, sludge, oil and grease develop within each radiator in your system. This has a negative effect on the overall performance of both your radiators and your boiler – in truth – your entire central heating system, reducing its life expectancy.
When a system is competently power flushed, the system is flushed in several directions, agitating the sludge and debris, so the system can be drained of the build up. When flushing a system, special chemicals are used to guarantee the breakdown of the sludge inside of the system, ahead of the deposits being removed.
Power flushing your Central Heating system in Newcastle can also expand the lifespan of your boiler and under Part L of the building regulations, your system must be power flushed when an old central heating boiler has been replaced by a new boiler. The price of power flushing in Newcastle does vary so please call to organise a site visit or speak about your requirements on the telephone.
What is a MagnaCleanse?
Produced by the manufacturers of the award winning MagnaClean® Professional filter, the MagnaCleanse RapidFlush Filter has 5x the capacity of a normal power flush and is manufactured to remove all oxide particles and debris in one pass. What enters the filter is retained and stopped from recirculating.
The robust filter includes a unique swirl chamber, in the centre of which rests a strong magnetic core. The afflicted water coming back from the system in a flush is forced around and along the length of the magnet where any oxide particles are exposed to the powerful magnetic field.
Particles are drawn towards the core and prevented from moving back into the system. This carries on until a saturation level is achieved at which point no more build-up is possible. Remarkably we still come upon new boilers that have been installed by other companies and the central heating system hasn’t been correctly flushed, customers are often stunned to hear their new boiler now necessities a high priced repair all because the contractor never power flushed the heating system correctly.
